The 8th Street Boat Launch, Kansas River, North Lawrence, Kansas
This is where I created the majority of work - a seemingly unassuming parking lot, providing afternoon shade, the Kansas River surroundings, and a virtual menagerie of wonderful people, who in turn became one or the other of my diverse subjects: The Local People (who come to visit this place) or views over the river, its banks and skies overhead. Hence, this section is divided into two sections - LANDSCAPE & 100 PORTRAITS. The 100 PORTRAITS are the culmination of a self-inflicted goal that turned into one of the greatest, most enjoyable artistic achievements of my life. These paintings represent only those passersby who stopped of their own volition to visit with me and then consented to my photographed for this project.
