"One picture is worth one thousand words" yet I need to state how honored I feel having been entrusted to represent in art these wonderful people I met by virtue of merely hanging around with my easel at my tailgate, painting at the 8th Street boat launch in North Lawrence, Kansas. Despite those seemingly uninterested passersby ignoring me, some of the visitors to the area inevitably approached me to see what I was up to. I consider these to be "MY PEOPLE" according to Robert Henri as described in his acclaimed teaching notes published in The Art Spirit. Non of these pictures are for sale, although some subjects were painted twice, with the second picture given to its subject in appreciation for the gift of his image. I cannot explain here the wealth of appreciation and love I feel for these people I consider friends who "entrusted me with their souls."
